
Awareness-raising and Education with sustainable development : Workshops of awareness in the profits of the schools of Nador

Among the recommendations of the International Conference on Sustainable Management organized in Tangier in October 2010 chaired by Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa President of Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, appears in priority education and awareness-raising.
In application of these recommendations and within the framework of its partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection organizes, in association with her partners and with the support of the French Fund for the World Environment and the French Agency of Development, workshops of launch of the programs Young Reporters for the Environment (JRE) intended for the young high school students and "Eco-Schools" for the primary establishments.
These workshops, aim at promoting education with the environment and sustainable development by the personal experience and the awakening of the consciences citizens of young people. They are registered moreover among the recommendations of the conference of the littoral held on October 9th, 2010 under the Presidency of Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa.
Workshop JRE will relate to meadows of 50 high-school students framed by their professors and representing 20 colleges of the Nador province and will focus itself on various subjects such as the step to adopt for the collection of information on the ground and its setting forms some for the reader and the technical journalistic and photographic.
In margin of the workshop of launching of the program, practical workshops will be organized to make it possible to the Young Reporters to ask about meadows of the technique of realization of reports and about taking photos.
These workshops will be framed by members of the national jury of the program "Young Reporters for the Environment".
Each year, this program is enclosed by the handing-over of national prices to the prizes winner. The work preceded by the national jury is then addressed to the FEE Paris to contribute at the European level. Let us note for this purpose the Moroccan participation was preceded each year since 2003.
After its adhesion with the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) in July 2002, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection decided to establish the program Young Reporters for the Environment in Morocco in partnership with the Minister of National Educatio . This program is a global area network of teachers and children of the secondary, which inquire, under the framing of their professors, on a set of themes related to their close environment. (Waste, water, energy, biodiversity, Transport, Air... etc).
As for the second workshop, it will relate to 17 schools represented by the direction, teaching staff and some pupils.
Practical workshops are programmed to make it possible to the schools to present their work and to propose some initiatives in term of eco gesture and awareness-raisnig at the safeguarding of the environment.
It falls to recall that the international programme of education to the environment Eco- Schools, is a label decreed at the elementary schools and the schools of the secondary which are mobilized for the environment. In the establishments which go voluntary, the children, the teachers, the direction and the personnel work successively on five priority topics: food, biodiversity, waste, water and energy. Within the framework of the lesson and in partnership with the local elected representatives, local associations and the parents of children in particular, carry out a diagnosis which leads to concrete achievements of improvement of environmental management within their school.
The various "eco-schools" of the Kingdom which take part in the project, within the framework of the strategic partnership between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Minister of National Education, also constitute a network of experience sharing and good practices which make it to benefit from the initiatives carried out by the others.
