Involving young peoples

After its becoming a member of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of Environment decides to create in Morocco “the Young Reporters Program for Environment”. This program initiated by the FEE in 1990, responding to a request made by the Netherlands, is intended for secondary school student
Under a teacher’s supervision , the students can make a research and inform the large public about an environmental thematic issue in their town, regarding the six following themes : agriculture, town, coastline, waste, water and energy.
A first experience was started in Morocco in 2002, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, in partnership with the Moroccan Foundation for Nature and Mankind. The success of this experience pushes the Foundation to decide its gradual widespreading in all the schools, starting from 2003.
The jury for the “young reports” competition for 2002, was composed of ten members, representing the written and audiovisual press, the Ministry of National Education and Youth, The High Institute for Information and Communication, and an expert representing the Foundation.
