|HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa|
Portrait of a Princess activist
Following the devoted tradition of the distinguished members of the Royal Family, since an early age HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa has been involved in activities in service of the Moroccan society, with a particular interest in social, cultural and environmental issues. Awareness of the unsustainable use of that which we take for granted, has instilled in Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, a persevering determination to preserve and protect the beauty of environmental treasures and a unique world with which the Creator has endowed Morocco.
The task of watching over the beach heritage, which was entrusted to Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa by Her Father, His Late Majesty Hassan II, became a moral duty and sacred mission.
His Majesty Mohammed VI, with the appointment of the Princess at the head of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, has strengthened it by institutionalizing this commitment. She managed to give sense to this commitment, in activity and content, by raising the environment to a national subject, with all that it implies in issues and advocacy. Various actions for environmental protection attribute the Princess with their success, to which she shares credit with the involvement of volunteers and NGOs, and to institutional breakthroughs.
As such, Morocco’s genuine and proactive policy of environmental protection has become an example for other countries. Such success is a result of the personality of the Foundation’s President, with her eagerness to implement a shared ethic, her strength with which she continues to inspire, and her humanist vision instilled in awareness efforts. Environmental protection is a marathon that requires patience, determination, and endurance.
Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa believes that the most beautiful act of love we can offer our children is to map out the path of commitment.
