The first blue flags granted to Morocco went to Ain Diab and Essaouira Beaches, during the summer season of 2005.

Obtaining this eco-label by these two beaches comes as a crowning of a successful work marked by many actions and events falling within the frame of the national program « Clean Beaches ».

It is equally a recognition, at the national and international levels,   of a long and hard work and of the efforts made by all the partners of the Foundation (Local Communities, Local authorities, Citizenship companies…) for :

Improving the quality of swimming water
Developing and managing the beach in a rigorous way
Implementing activities for growing awareness and environmental education
Reinforcing the aspects related to security

It is important to point out that all the participating parties concerned by improving the status of the beaches adhering to the « Clean Beaches » program work hard to be in conformity, at different terms,  with the criteria requested to obtain the « blue flag »
