An on-going “conventional partnership”
« On the shores of two coasts of 3500 km, Morocco has a wide and diversified coastline, whether on the Atlantic Ocean or the Mediterranean Sea. The seaside is a real leisure and holiday center for the populations’ different classes as well as for Moroccans living abroad and tourists. This fascination leads to a heavy human exploitation which has certainly its effects on the seaside environment.
Because of these stakes, Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa tackled, from the beginning, the beaches’ problems, which need too much time and energy because of the complexity of the parties involved and the importance of the area covered by the coastlinMake our beaches smile is the Foundation’s first most important program, launched since three years ago, it aims at making our seaside more valuable, a real leisure centre for the large part of the population as well as for Moroccans living abroad and tourists.In concrete terms, the “clean beaches” operation can be seen through the following:
- making the different operators more aware
- basic infrastructure to be set up
- security and medical care to be provided
- beaches’ hygiene and cleanliness
- livening up beacheses plages

Thanks to the verystong enagagement of the public and deprived companies, local communities and authorities, partners of the Foundation. a true levelling of beaches in termes of infrastructures, equipement, hygiene and safety started. Thus in 2005, the "clean beaches" program has known the mobilization of many public and private partners :

- 44 beaches, where 50% of vacationers yo, were sponsored
- 25 public and private citizenship corporates were mobilized
- 33 communities were concerned
