" No one can ignore the effects of pollution on our children’s health. My heart as a mother and as a Moroccan is therefore worried when thinking that our sons and daughters do not have the right to leave in a country respecting nature and its beauty”, underlines Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa in her message on the occasion of the World Environment Day, celebrated on June the 5th, 2000. This, by itself, shows the degree of Her Royal Highness’ commitment: responsibility, humanism, fieldwork and anxiety to preserve the resources and the patrimony for future generations. |

Her Royal Highness’ fight for environment is not merely a symbolic one but takes roots in the Moroccan reality “having clean cities, countrysides, beaches and forests is not an issue to be debated in a theoretical way but a real problem for all the components of the society, whether at the central or local level” underlines Her Royal Highness at the International Symposium on Environment (Ouarzazate, November 1999).
Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, born on November 19th, 1967 in Rabat, daughter of the Late King Hassan II and youngest sister of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is personally involved in a series of activities other than those dealing with environment protection. This strong involvment draws a particular attention to the causes she is defending, at the head of which: assuming Moroccans’ concerns .
